Default New Consensus Draft Services mock draft (7-28)

http://condraft.com/mock.php

Broncos PICK#: 11
ERIC WINSTON (OT) - MIAMI (FL)
Eric is a ferocious competitor and easily one of the most talented OT’s in the draft. If he bounces back gracefully from his injury last season, look for him to move up the boards and be a top 5 pick. He has ideal size, speed, strength, and tenacity. He’s very experienced and a very polished offensive line prospect. Many have already begun with comparisons to Robert Gallery of the Oakland Raiders. The only thing that the “buyer beware” about is his recovery process from the knee injury. If he can ice that, he’ll be a top pick. Denver’s O-line is getting older, and coach Shanahan will need to start replacing some guys and adding youth. Look for them to pick OL more than once during the course of the draft.

Broncos PICK#: 18
JIMMY WILLIAMS (S) - VIRGINIA TECH
With their first pick, the Broncos addressed offense. With this pick they will add a much needed shot of youthful energy in their secondary. Jimmy Williams is a CB/S tweener who can play both positions with ease. He is extremely gifted athletically, and he has a knack for making big plays. Some complain that he tends to disappear for possessions at a time, but if he works on his consistency and puts up good statistics, he could be a very similar prospect to rookie Marlin Jackson. As previously stated, the Broncos need to address their secondary early on this year. The addition of Champ Bailey and John Lynch last season appeared to help, but other than those two players, they are fairly weak on the last line of defense.

Broncos PICK#: 43
TIM DAY (TE) - OREGON
No write-up.

Broncos PICK#: 75
DARRELL HACKNEY (QB) - ALABAMA-BIRMINGHAM
No write-up.

There are some seemingly odd picks like Chad Greenway falling to 21, AJ Hawk going to the Pats at 30 (that would be, frankly, unfair) and People like Ernie Sims, Max Jean-Gilles and Devin Hester landing in round 2. All-in-all I would be very happy with the first round, as I don't see Lepsis being around for more than 2 years, which would give Winston a year to develop under him, and having a safety that could cover someone would be nice, and the fact that he's big and can tackle would be a bonus.
