I am thinking of heading out to the big island Monday morning after the Super Bowl. Just wondering if anyone else was planning on heading out there.

Well ain't that a b****. Going from the Superbowl to the pro-bowl. Nice! Take some pics of the SB for us and pro bowl if you go. How is your basketball friend doing anyway? |

I must have wrote that wrong, I am not going to the Superbowl just leaving for Hawaii the day after. I wish I was going to both games. One of my buddies goes out to the pro bowl every year with his dad, and this year his dad is more than likely not able to go, so I am taking his place. Carmen (Basket ball guy) is over in Italy, playing pretty well in the 2nd division.
Meck you thinking of heading over to the big island to support Champ & John? |

Man I've never even thought about going to the pro-bowl. Been to Oahu once years ago but that's about it. I'm heading up to Whister British Columbia in a couple weeks to do some boarding so no can do on the pro-bowl. I think we have a couple of Omaners from Hawaii. Not sure if they still live their or not though. Maybe somebody esle around here knows? Tailgate Hawaii style. That would be sweet. |

I was at Whistler from January 5 to 12 and I had a blast. Every run on that mountain is long. The place makes Vail look like a bunny hill. The Village is a fun place too. There's never a dead night there although its pretty pricey. Hit up Garfinkles when you're there. Whistler is not having one of its best snow seasons but I have seen recently that its getting more dumpings. I hope it snows a ton for you. Have a great time and comeback safe. |

The Pro Bowl isn't played on the Big Island.

It's played in Oahu. Waikiki beach isn't too far from the stadium if I remember right. I stayed in some Gilligan Island type motel amongst the high dollar big hotels back in college. I remember driving by the stadium. Be prepared for the hustle and bustle of a big city. I was expecting coconuts and hula girls but when I got there it was nothing but high rise buildings. Still beautiful but if you want to get away from the chaos take a trip to the north shore. There is a real cool hike I took up to Angel falls I think it was. Big ass waterfall and a lagoon type deal to swim in.
There is some tourist snorkeling place not far from the beaches there. I forget what's it's called but worth the trip. You'll ses brochures for it all over the place. Definetly go to a pig roast. They have those all over and the hula dancers are great! I'd drop Hulamau a pm. I think he lives there? We have a couple other posters with Hawaii user names but they don't seem to post here anymore. |
