Hey guys, this is just Nathan... er PHAN Anderson, Nathan L., USN here.

Well, I'm back. The training part is mostly over and I'm just wating here in Ft. Meade, Maryland (About 15 minutes from Washington DC or Baltimore either way). Nothing much new... I'm going into combat correspondance... so I'm a milatary photo journalist, not a SEAL, but chances are good that I'll be with the Marines in the Gulf outside of Kuwait. I'm just not really looking foward to SERE training again.

I did get a laptop with wireless DSL, so I can be on here with some of my free time.

I've caught two Broncos games this year, the Bengals game and the Falcons game.... not the best.

The bad news is that I have duty on thanksgiving, meaning I'll be here in DC for the Raiders game. I don't know yet what kind of christmas leave I'll get.

Thats all.... and theres a two hour time difference... and we get up at 4 every morning, so no more late nights, as I'll be in bed by the time its 6pm over there.

Go Navy!

Welcome back Smurf! Lots has happened since you left including David Gibbs being fired for insubordination. Denver is playing well on both sides of the ball right now.

Thanks again for your service to this country and our freedoms. May God bless you and keep you safe in your duty.

ahhhh the full Metal Jacket compairisons, lol. Yup yup, I have ultimitley the same job as Joker and Rafterman from the movie.

I joined the Navy to be a Seal... that didnt work out. Now I'm a PH... I'm a sailor, but considering my job, I might as well be a Marine.

Oh and another thing.... right when we finished Battle Stations, my drill instructor quoted that same part when he saw my job "Military journalism?! Your not a writer, your a ****ing killer!"

Battle Stations (and intense overnight (like 72hours) field training of FTX simulated war - where our survival skills, shooting (22-guage shotguns, 9mm pistols) skills, and well as first aid, swimming, firefighting and other stuff they taught was all tested. It was a blast.

Military life is great most of the time.

Here's the thing. There are a couple of guys in my class... one is from Boulder - doesent care about sports. One is from Wyoming, huge Raiders fan. There is another Broncos fan... from Mississippi, and I dont really see a connection.
