I've heard it's very good, too. I'm gonna see it this week. I think the Japanese have a whole new way to look at horror, as opposed to the common 'slasher' flicks the U.S. produces by the bucketload. "The Ring" was also a Japanese re-make, and very original and scary too.

Plus...Sarah Michelle is kinda hot.

The grudge is a poor mans "the ring."

Would've been great, but it took forever to develop and you're confused about **** for most of the movie. A lot of flashbacks and flashforwards, not sure exactly what the hell is going on.

No movie is ever going to touch the exorcist in terms of pure scary, grudge hardly holds a candle to it.

Sorry I thought it was lame but the kids kitty cat voice scared my wife. If you want to see a good Japanese horror film check out audition. Anyone see Saw yet?

Audition is straight up sick, I love the slasher gory movies, but this even freaked me out.

Don't want to give much away, but theres a part in the movie where the girl who went in for the audition cuts a guys foot off with just this thin metal line, just completely sick.

I saw the previews for that audtion movie on A/E's scariest movie moments on Halloween, talk about some MESSED up crap. If that movie disturbed Rob Zombie, then something has to be wrong with it, it looked psychotic.

I'd also like to hear reviews about saw.

This is a good website for horror movie reviews:

HorrorWatch.com

You have to take into account how enthusiastic these guys are for the subject matter and temper your own expectations somewhat, but they rarely steer you wrong.

I checked out Saw last weekend and I was impressed. I had high expectations going in and I wasn't disappointed at all afterwards. Clever and twisted film with an ending that caught me off guard.

I would recommend it.

It's ok. I'm pretty good at guessing endings to movies and this one I couldn't get. But it's got some piss poor acting in it. Overall I'd give it 2 out of 4 stars.

scariest movie ever? scarier than Deliverance? talk about changing a persons perspective. anyone think the same about camping for years after seeing that?

as for the exorcist, being a lil kid in catholic school at the time that movie scared the hell out of me and i didnt even see it til years later. however when i did see it... i thought damn 2 hours of boredom with 12 mins of terror. i was dissapointed despite my catholic upbringrinig.

nowadays movies dont scare me at all. but watching all the true crime shows on tlc history disc etc. i know the Real scary monsters could be living right next door.

The Grudge was an extremely well made film. I saw the original Japanese version called Ju-On recently. Same director, most of the same actors and many of the same scenes, just a slightly smaller budget. Hard to say which one was better, but I loved them both.

Scariest movie I ever saw was Batman & Robin.

I still have nightmares about those bat-nipples.

And people fighting over Uma Thurman.

And the chubby batgirl.

The horror.

I have this movie in the DVD player right now, The Grudge that is. I started it the other night, watched half of it and my husband decided to go to bed! The jerk! I'm still scared of the dark, so there was no way I was watching the rest by myself at night. I'll give my review when I get the courage or daylight time by myself to finish watching it.
