Default Why do Cats see invisible stuff?

I mean they can nail bugs and mice and stuff, but why do they stare into blank space and have their eyes dilate like they see stuff?

Not saying I believe this ...but I saw this Animal Planet show about cats and they talked about that briefly. They said some people think cats can 'see' or sense ghosts or other entities. But that's more Scully and Mulder's field...better ask them (See above post by Bronco Militia).

No, that's cool, dude. Your picture is exactly what I was thinking too, that's why I referred to it. I just think it sounds like a spooky X-Files episode.

Notice too how cats will freak out for no reason, and chase things that aren't there? ...hmmm, or are they RUNNING from something

My wife has two cats and I...harrass them on occasion. But apparently they like it as they keep coming back to me over and over.

Maybe it's because I give them drugs...ie Cat Nip.

Man...that stuff just makes them go crazy.

They talked about it on Father of the Pride last night. It was pretty funny.

I saw that too..."on the Nip".

Hey, ever heard that it only affects male cats, or at least they're more drawn to it? I heard that from someone. I only have a male cat and he loves it, so I have nothing to compare it to. This girl I know has 3 cats, and only her male responds to catnip, and one female barely cares, the other not at all, so it seems true. Anyone else heard of this, or was the person who told me smoking the 'nip?
