I did plan to see it this weekend. I heard viewers wanted more action scenes.

Despite this warning, I'm going this weekend. I've heard that it lacks action to a degree until the end, which is the last thing I expected to hear about a Godzilla movie.

Most Godzilla movies have a ton of "filler." Way too many scenes of boring humans talking. If you want to see classic Japanese monster movies with lots of action, check out War of the Gargantuas, King Kong Escapes or Destroy All Monsters. Final Wars is probably the most action oriented of the newer Godzilla movies.

I really enjoyed Godzilla vs King Kong when I was a kid. And another where he fought against a giant, roach looking alien, can't remember what it was called.

It isn't a "bad" movie at all...I am very fond of the corny Godzilla flicks from when I was a kid which is why we went to see this. It's a very good rental, but yes...for a Godzilla movie, you don't see a lot of Godzilla.

I will say some of the references are great.

We should all have to see our own movies. FYI I've seen ST into Darkness twice and have "The Wrath of Khan" memorized.

Alright, Mr. Trekkie... finish this quote then:

KIRK
And yet, in the midst of our sorrow
it should be noted that this death
takes place in the shadow of new
life, the sunrise of a new world,
a world that our beloved comrade
gave his own life to protect and
nourish. He did not feel that
sacrifice a vain or empty one --
and we will not debate his profound
wisdom, in these proceedings. Of
my friend, I can only say this, that
of all the souls I have encountered
in my travels, his was the most --
(he falters)
-- XXXXX.

I'll probably check it out when it's on TBS. The story of Sleeping Beauty has already been told.

Well, you get a pass then. How about I put it this way, don't go see Godzilla and expect a lot.

I didn't hate it, but it was a let down. Not as bad as Pacific Rim mind you.
