Default Woodyard moved to MLB - Trevathan to WLB

Well it looks as if Irving just couldn't hack it and Bradley has surgery

Wait a minute! I was told all offseason as MLB was a wasted position in this defense. We are now going to "waste" WW in the MLB spot?

Hmmm...

Whoa, I kinda like this. I think the team plans on having Irving at Sam during Von's absence

Oh crap I didn't think of this. I may have misfired when I said Irving couldn't hack it. Have to move to a true 4-3 instead of a Von-3

Same players will be on the field in nickel anyways (WW3 stays on the field whether he plays WLB or MLB)

Thats not what people said. They said MLB wont be on the field much because we'd be in nickel. Now our Mike will be in nickel

MLB only played 35% of the snaps last year because Brooking went off when the nickle came on. If Woodyard moves to Middle than the MLB will play in 85% of the snaps. Its all semantics really. The position isn't unimportant, it all depends on who is playing it.

Now the Will position is the unimportant one...

According to PFF, Denver ran Nickel/Dime/Quarter defenses 62% of all snaps last year.

Hopefully our beefed up frontline will take some pressure off the MLB in our defense to run around and make plays during the plays where we need 3 LBs.

They ran that cause most the time they had sizeable leads forcing the other teams to pass more. That percentage drops if they aren't leading in games.

I like this and this also seals the nonsense of Irving ever playing MLB in Denver.

He's actually played better at the SAM then he did MLB. I like that move. I think Woodyard can do it. And if he's a natural there, I can see him bulking up 10 pounds for next season.

Probably indicates Irving plays SAM while Miller is suspended.

I actually like this arrangement. Trevathan and WW are our best coverage LBs. Wonder what happens after Von comes back though.

That's a big switch up. At least we will have the best 3 linebackers on the field. I guess Phillips is going to move down to DE.

I am for it, WW is a damn animal and the sort of vocal guy you need at MLB.

I can see this. Trevathan needs to be on the field more and WW is already calling the plays and running the show out there...

I see lots of runs up the gut with WW at MLB. I love him, he just isn't a MLB.

I think most of us are in agreement. You hate to see injuries but just like Mays...it's addition by subtraction. Nice setup...undersized but exciting as hell!

Hopefully we can get some good D line play to keep him clean.

Nacho Libre played like Jack Black against Seattle. He was no where to be seen.
