Default OT - Sipping drink thread

What kind of liquor/liqueur do you prefer to down, straight up or on the rocks? Right now I'm drinking some 10 Cane, but I usually rotate through many different ones like, Gentlemen Jack, Belvedere, Macallan 12 year, Crown Royal and some other stuff.

Note: The original thread got moved to the OT section, I guess because it got bumped during the season. Not sure. Here it is the link if you want to see what kind of things people picked out.

Not a lot has changed for me in the past year hooch-wise.
Sippin' on some Knob Creek with my whiskey rocks at the moment.

Still down with Evan Williams when the budget's tight. Put your favorite "Jack Daniel's or nuttin'" minded person to a blind taste test. They may have a very difficult time picking their fave; or mix that in when they ask for a Jack-n-Coke. They probably won't notice the difference.

That **** is dangerous to start drinking after you are already **** faced. I've never once had good luck drinking it.

why the **** would you drink bourbon whiskey when you are already messed up?

That's like pouring a bucket of water on a grease fire, then running to get the hose to finish the job.... lol

I never really had Knob Creek, but I heard it taste really smooth. I like Maker's Mark and Crown if my money's tight!

Try Bulleit Rye, Buffalo Trace or Four Roses if you are sipping on a budget. I prefer all three to Maker's.

Four Roses is a really good value if you are looking for a smooth, lighter Bourbon and only have a $20 in your pocket- I don't care for the bottle design, it looks cheap, but it is good product- some of their higher end products have better bottle design, not that it matters I guess.

I tend to drink my Bourbon neat, but when I break our the Parker's Special Edition Single Barrel, I drink it with 1 large ice cube- it tends to be too hot at 70% alcohol to drink neat, although I do it sometimes, but it is so good.

Evan Williams (which is the same place as Parkers) makes a good Bourbon fro $25.00 or less as well.

Another nice Whiskey I buy alot of Pendleton- its Canadian, and has a carmel hint to it... now I don't usually like that, but it is smooth, and has a excellent mouth feel...

Buffalo Trace is really good! I heard about how good Bulleit Rye was, but never tried it. I have to do that. How is Four Roses?

I went to a restaurant in Louisville, KY called Z's Oyster Bar. At the time I was a more regular drinker but 3 rounds of bourbon nearly put me on my ass.

I used to be more of a drinker too. My typical night out w/ friends would be mostly beer until the last 1 1/2 hour before the bars closed. That's when I would switch to a single malt Scotch. Kicks the buzz into a new level. You can feel it down deep. Kinda like getting your soul drunk.

That was a rough week in Kentucky. Irish car bombs, bourbon, beer, vodka. My liver still bears the scars. And it was a work related trip. And I remember nearly nothing of the evenings after 8pm.

This summer has been all about Jameson's Whiskey Sours. Double the booze, add Bar-Tender's whiskey sour powder, shake it up, then top it off with a little diet Ginger ale. It's an awesome summer drink, and two of them will give you a good start to the evening.

Sounds like you might have had some of that "Mayan Coffee" too. Also when was the last time someone drunk posted on the Mane? I've heard about it, but I don't think I've ever seen it.

I had a "Mayan coffee" at a resort and it had me wobbly. Still have no idea what goes in it, but I suspect it's half roofie.

Did you wake up in a strange hotel room, with a naked man (or men) with a beer belly and a hairy back? If not, then it wasn't roofie.

Nothing beats some Ardbeg, Laphroaig, or even simply some JW Red, Black, or Blue...Though blue is super pricey. I love Scotch. Scotch, Scotch, Scotch. Here it goes down, down into my belly.

Laphroaig is definitely my go to when I don't want to spring for Lagavulin (aka nectar of the gods). The peatier the better in my book, though Ardbeg is a little too much on the charcoal-ly side to me.
