Default Welker had hair transplant

No Hub-bub for Wes Welker Thursday, June 20, 2013

PrintEmail Comments (0) .By:Adam Kurkjian

..Wearing a grey suit, no tie and sporting a full head of hair that for the first time since 2006 will not be under a Patriots helmet when the NFL kicks off in the fall, Wes Welker signed autographs and took questions from reporters and fans alike last night at the Capital Grille on Boylston Street.

The event, staged by Leonard Hair Transplant Associates, for whom Welker has been a paid spokesperson since receiving a replacement procedure last July, was mostly low-key for the Denver Broncos receiver. Welker didn’t appear to harbor any lingering bitterness at Pats management for failing to retain him. Welker, who said he’d later attend the Bruins game with Dr. Robert Leonard, maintained he was happy to be back in town and ready to move on.

“No, not at all,” Welker said when asked if he felt the Patriots undervalued him in the free agency process. “Unfortunately, it’s the business side of football and as a player you understand it. So, you just move on and look toward the future.”

Does he and Brady go to the same plug specialist?

Is that what it means when a guy has a hot wife? He has to go out and get hair implants to keep her? I can imagine the wife is the main pushing force for their men to get hair plugs.

Does anyone here have hair plugs? Why did they get them?

I'm in my late 50's and I won't consider it. I don't have bad hair loss or anything, but I can agree with you about the driving force being their wives.

I've always thought those things were expensive? I wonder how much Wes had to pay for this procedure?

I've always been under the impression that you go with the cards you're dealt. If it gets too bad, get the #1 trimmer out and be prepared for change.

I do admit I have seen some guys do this because they think they won't be attractive anymore. I can honestly say that women (well most at least) won't care about that.

I'm assuming it cost Wes at least 10k to do this. I'd rather use that money on a nice vacation or a new car, but that's just me.

He is a spokesman for the hair plug company so I doubt he paid anything. It sou nds to me he has to do it every year or something. I bet the all the procedures are much more than $10,000.

i have all my hair right now, but if i do start to go bald, i won't do the Trump combover or the George Costanza only around the sides bald. If i start losing my hair I am going Bruce Willis on my head and shaving it all off.

When my hair goes all the way, whatever is left is gone. Its doing this weird silvering at the temples at the moment. Damn genetics.

I've lost most of my hair....I embraced shaved the rest. I would never do hair plugs.

The only thing I would do is if they figure out a way to naturally grow it back...and it won't cost me an arm, leg and my pride to do so.

I've thought about some plugs before and even went as far as researching it. I will say the top of the line procedures today are light years ahead of old fashion plugs from 20 years ago. And yeah, it's about $10K for a complete job. Probably $5K the first year and then $5K the second year when you go back for the touch ups. Hey, if you're rich, I don't see what the big deal is. The newer styles out there done by the top guys you can't even tell. It's only the bad jobs by the rookies that people notice and it does give the better jobs a bad name.

But I just haven't decided it was the best thing. If I was 20 and bald, yeah I would probably end up doing it. So I just shave it now.

Frustrates the hell out of me too. I have 2 brothers and both them MF'ers have like perfect thick hair. Why did I have to be the one with the Ginobli flesh cap, hahaha. I'm fine on the sides, back and front, it's just that one small area on the back crown, just like Ginobli. Maybe I should become Jewish and wear that little hat....hahaha.

But I agree with some of you, women don't really care too much about that. They care more about if you are in shape, if you're handsome and if you've got cash.

Crown hair is the one area for guys that can be salvaged. If you thin in the front you're pretty much screwed and have to go with transplants. That or cut off your balls, haha.
