Default Victor Cruz vs Wes Welker

However, Victor Cruz has surpassed Welker as the premier slot receiver in the NFL, with a combination of skills that makes him indefensible between the hashes. From his precise route-running skills to his explosive big-play ability, Cruz is a serious threat to deliver game-changing plays from any spot on the field. Factor in his ability to step up on third-down and in the red zone, and there is no question that Cruz is the best slot receiver in the NFL.

The only problem I have with this is I think Welker is a better route runner.

Why do you have different iterations of a she-man as your avatar?

I'm glad you said this, cause I've been thinking this for a while. Definitely a man back, with a Beyoncé arse.

I'm thinking Bacchus is either self-employed or out of work (hopefully, the former).......definitely been posting a TON lately.

It's all good, though, Bacchus.

One of the big reasons for my uptick in posting has been due to the lack of Broncos' related items on the front page. I have been cruising the web for Broncos' stuff to post. I have been working for you all!!!!

Its hard to compare Cruz and Welker because of the age difference. I think Cruz VS Randall Cobb would be a good comparison and contest. I do not know who I would want in that battle.

I know what it really was Houshyamama. You have had that picture of your wife in your computer just waiting for the right thread to display it.

I'm not even sure it's a woman. It's hard to tell because I can't stand looking at 'it' for more than a couple seconds at a time.

If the Broncos 3rd wr in the slot even the 5th best in th NFL the league would be in trouble.

I agree cruz is awesome but Nicks all banged up now and they don't have an Eric Decker IMO to round out the group.

Cruz more a number 1 or 2 WR that plays in the slot. While the Broncos offense has big time threats outside that are much better then the Giants.

Because Welker is now in a group featuring Thomas, Decker, a stable of pretty solid TE's and what looks to be a solid O-line and rushing attack we will be inundated all season long with articles about how Welker's play has declined, how he is no longer the premier slot receiver in the NFL, etc. It will all come true based on statistics because with only so many passes to go around Welker's targets will be limited while a player like Cruz will continue to be the heavy focus of the Giants passing attack.

I have this argument with my friends all the time . He likes wes welker but i think victor cruz is the best slot receiver in football over the past 2 years. Cruz is dynamic as all hell after the ball. He doesnt have the moves or agility of percy harvin but the guy is a touchdown machine. Hes a PLAYMAKER constantly taking the ball to the house from 30 40 50+ yards.!luckily hes paired with the most accurate down feild thrower . To me its easy u guys can take freaking dink n dunk welker. Give me THE PLAYMAKER all day long

Plus he doesnt EVER drop the ball. (Exagerating) but welker drops a lot of passes in crunch time. Something we should think about come playoff time is the choke-ability of a manning to welker pass. Both guys sometimes fold under pressure ...

OK when it gets to crunch time we'll have Oz come in and throw to Decker.
