Well I doubt you will see anybody take Dez on a Broncos forum but honestly, I think Thomas does give you more.

First off, pure size. Thomas has Dez by 2 inches and probably 15 pounds. Longer arms, bigger hands. Thomas is just as fast as Dez, with maybe even better top end speed. Thomas also IMO, is better with YAC. And then there is the character thing.

I think any GM worth his salt would take Thomas over Dez at this stage.

Thomas ran between 4.36-4.38...for someone that's 6'3 230...that's beast status. Bryant ran a 4.52 on pro day. But Bryant has great football speed.

Thomas has shorter arms by 1 inch, but he also has hands at 10.5 inches compared to dez 9.75...

At worst, even if you say they are even...DT's character kills Dez. Matter of fact, DT's character trait is extremely rare for a WR of his talent.

Demaryius Thomas is larger, faster, stronger, and has demonstrably better character (Parrish Cox rape trial issues not withstanding). He also has made one of the all-time clutch overtime plays in beating the Steelers in last year's playoffs.

Dez Bryant has better career stats after 3 years, but that's a bit deceptive. They both had nearly identical seasons in 2012 statistically, and Thomas's 2010 and 2011 stats were obviously affected by having Orton and Tebow as his quarterbacks, while Bryant was working with a pro bowl quarterback and gunslinger in Tony Romo all 3 years.

I honestly believe that 9 out of 10 general managers would select Demaryius Thomas over Dez Bryant right now if given the choice.

Career Stats
Thomas: 148 catches for 2268 yards (15.3 ypr), 16 touchdowns
Bryant: 200 catches for 2871 yards (14.4 ypr), 27 touchdowns

2012 stats
Thomas: 94 catches for 1434 yards (15.3 ypr), 10 touchdowns
Bryant: 92 catches for 1382 yards (15.0 ypr), 12 touchdowns

Also, if quarterbacks are judged by their record, shouldn't players at other positions be as well?

Thomas's career record: 25-23, two division titles
Bryant's career record: 22-26, no playoff appearances

I'm guessing your joking. I can only remember Dez game winner he dropped against Baltimore last year. I think he may of dropped it twice then cost Dallas clock by being stupid and arguing with the officials. Then he had a TD overturned against someone late in the year because he was lazy getting his feet down. Maybe he has been clutch bit everytime I watch Dallas he is as clutch as his QB.

Obviously, as a Broncos fan, I'm going to lean towards Thomas over Bryant. But the two are pretty well matched and you would be well served by either in your number one spot. I do have one concern with Thomas and that is his health. Thus far, he has only had one season where he has been able to stay healthy the entire year. And I was holding my breath every time I saw him hobble to the sideline or clutch at his leg last season. Until he can stay on the field for a couple of consecutive seasons, that is going to remain a concern for me.

I can see how a majority of GMs might think Dez is a little better WR at this point but I would bet 31 of the 32 teams would take Thomas over him. Dallas being the lone exception and I am not sure about that.

Jerry Jones actually had to put Dez on a curfew and have someone actually babysit him. Dez might have matured over the last year but this was a real issue just two years ago.

Thomas got caught up with Cox in the rape scandal, but Thomas was never accused of raping her, at most he covered for him, but since then he has been a model citizen and a great teammate.

One guy requires a full time babysitting service to keep him out of legal trouble. The other does not (at least for now).

Yeah, though DT may have been an accessory to a rape.

It's his own fault for posing in all those slutty pictures.

New question: Dez verses Daenerys.

Doesnt Daenerys play for the Raiders? Ive been calling one of their receivers Daenerys Targaryan for a bit now.

Hence the disclaimer. DT molestering a comatose groupie raises a concern or two.

They're close enough talent-wise that it's a no-brainer to pick the non-headcase

I think the article tried to downplay it, but when it touched on how Thomas was coming on with Tebow as QB even.... considering how we barely threw the ball he was still producing.. i think he had the most yards and catches in the month of December if i remember right (That is including megatron)

But then it trys to also take away from him by saying he has Manning.... well it doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize a good QB will give his star WR the opportunity to make plays... (Rice and Montana, Brady and Moss, Manning and Harrison, Irving and Aikmen, Farve and Sharpe, Elway and Smith/Sharpe)... that doesnt mean the WR wasnt good or it was all the QB.. its a sybiotic relationship a QB is only as good as his WR meaning if he cant catch or run routes it doesnt matter and the WR is only as good as his QB that can get him the ball.

Considering how Thomas was hurt most of his 1st two years their stats are still very similar, I firmly believe Thomas is still just scratching the surface considering he is gettting healthy and probably still not 100% from his achilles a year ago... and still learning the art of route running, i dont think we have seen his best and should only get better with the threat of Welker and hopefully a good running game.

With his upside you have to go with Thomas

Also consider Dez's maturity issues and it is a no brainer IMO

Bryant is very good though

I love DT but in terms of just football (ignoring character), Dez has been the better player THUS FAR.

DT had a breakout year and topped Dez in yardage... but Dez also played with a broken finger and a QB far below Manning.

As far as year 4?

I think Dez puts up better numbers than Demaryius because of Welker. DT will still put up great numbers and get some great 1 on 1s on the outside to take advantage of, but Dez will just get more balls his way.

Dez has also played in the same system since he got drafted with the same QB.

Whereas DT has had 3 different QBs...regardless if he played 1 with Manning, the fact that he was able to out produce Dez in his 3rd year with the same QB and same OC and same system...vs DT's first year with Manning... says enough to me.
