Default Mayock's Post Combine Positional Rankings

We've seen the pre-combine rankings, here's the post combine rankings: http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/0ap10...2013-nfl-draft

I like the way he divides up the defensive positions. He's ranked KStates Arthur Brown as a 4-3 Outside Linebacker instead of an ILB. I still think this draft is deep in defensive line and linebackers and again, I'd love for the Broncos to get a guy like Minter or Bostic or Alonso to shore up the middle of the defense. Mayock has slide Minter down probably because of his 40 time...

Inside Linebacker
1. Alec Ogletree, Georgia
2. Manti Te'o, Notre Dame
3. Kevin Minter, LSU
4. Kevin Reddick, North Carolina
5. Kiko Alonso, Oregon

Kiko Alonso is an interesting prospect. Some feel he will be the steal of the draft, he's a big kid, 6'3" 238lbs but he hasn't played a lot due to injuries and off the field issues.

I have always viewed Brown as an ideal WLB as well
but if Fox and crew think he can hold down the middle then I would be all for that

I am not a fan of Ogeltree
I dont think we are interested in him with him being such a knucklehead
But it shows up so much IMO that he was a former safety

He is a finesse player that tries to run around blocks
I think he would be a much better WLB as well

I actually think Elway likes Teo
I think that is a very realistic possibility in the upcoming draft

Well I sure hope the Raiders are the Raiders in the draft and pick Geno Smith and not Shariff Floyd.

Don't want Te'o. Hasn't stepped up in big moments. Bad game against 'Bama, and bad showing at combine.

Yeah... and I'm not interested in the circus that follows him. The whole fake girlfriend thing just kinda creeps me out.

If we survived the 'Tebow' era, Te'o will be a cake walk circus wise.

The girlfriend story won't have legs much longer.

You could say all the same things about James Laurinaitis and he's been a very good ILB for the Rams from day one. We could do worse than locking Te'o in at MLB long term with our first round pick.

But then, a trade back like last year to the early second round and stocking up on a few more picks would be my ideal. We would still have some nice choices to pick from, likely including one of Minter or Te'o.

What I find interesting is how low Barrett Jones is to be honest. 3rd ranked center?

Would love T'eo. Didn't really pay any attention to his "circus" at all. The dude looks like he can shed pounds or gain mass depending what JDR has planned for MLB.

MLB only plays 35% of the snaps. If Te'o is there in the 3rd round fine. Need DT,RB,CB in the first

even if it's 35-40% of the snaps, the quality of snaps matters greatly.
it only takes one bad quality snap to change a game, we saw that with Rahim Moore(i still blame the CB more than Rahim though)
if the LB is only going to play 2 snaps i still want it to be top tier level of play.

What's saying we wouldn't change that next year, esp after we draft a stud field general for our defense at MLB.

You want to have a good MLB? draft a Stud DT. Then play Irving, Johnson or Williams.

MLB only plays 35% of the snaps when Joe Mays and Keith Brooking are your starting MLB'ers. Bring Te'o in and that changes.

Elway has said as much. They want to play out of their base far more than they did last season.

Extactly, make Te'o the cornerstone of our defense, and make everyone play off him.

His own teammates call him a 'Drama Queen" and a "good actor" and you want him leading your Broncos?

Stay away from him.

Brown does seem to be more of a fit at OLB than MLB. would not want to take him higher than the 2nd round though.

TEO getting a bum rap. I bet he plays well because he knows football. Its not always baout how fast your are but more what angle you take, how you read a pulling guard, how you read a lead blocking FB, how you know football!

it's all about watching a play unfold and knowing where the point of attack will be on the LOS. If TEO is great at that he could still be a great players even without Al Wilson speed.

i have no issue with taking Te'o at #28. he may have ****ted the bed at the combine and against Bama but there is insane value there.
he's going to have a ton to prove and even if he's a two down LB we focus on the nickel package anyways.

Like I said, I'd have no problem with the Broncos going defense with their first three picks. Probably CB (yes, Trufant might be there) then DT then MLB. At the very least the Broncos should be able to get a starting caliber DT and maybe a MLB too.

At #28 look at the Broncos options, it's great: DT? WR? RB? CB? LB? S? Oline? All are very possible at the #28 spot.

I'm not thrilled with Te'o either. If he's there at 28 I'd rather the Broncos pass on him and take another position and then draft a ILB like Alonzo or Bostic later in the draft.

I think Teo might have the makings of a solid pro, potential pro-bowler. Solid, not spectacular. But I would not be upset with a DT or DE at 28, either.
