For the time being, but long-term the gop is just destroying itself. They are going to go the way of the whigs,if they don't adjust to certain realities.

"They do care what types of services government gives and, quite frankly, how much government takes.”
That's obvious. Do they not understand that bigger government takes more? |

In the age of technology, government should be more efficient and smaller.
But no, we have something that still looks like this............... |

I'm always arguing with the Norquist acolytes that we should want good government, not cheap government. They conflate the two.

The joke is on the GOP dummies. Had Gore been elected, the government would have been streamlined and reduced considerably, something he was very successful with under Clinton. Instead, they cheated to put the all-hat-no-cattle cowboy in the WH and he went on a drunken binge. They have nobody but themselves to blame.

The joke is on the people. The formula for success in Washington is to make promises to the people, but keep promises to the lobbyists. Otherwise, you can't get to the top and stay there. Gore wouldn't have been any different from the other "choices" we've had this millennium: Gore, Bush, Kerry, McCain, and Romney. That's all we've had to choose from. Do you trust any of them?

You're too gullible if you don't see that it's both sides. Yes, Gore and Kerry aren't trustworthy either. I can't believe I forgot about Obama. Can't leave him out.
