I think he'll be less effective than McGahee was but generally fill that same role if he ends up as the starter.

Given that Hillman was given the ball 3 straight carries at the end of the last game tells me he will be the starter next week and I think he's going to have a great game.

They'll have to respect Manning, and Knowshon will have a monster game...

This is pretty much what I think will happen. I think Hillman and Moreno will both have great games.

It think Manning will throw over 300 yards with multiple scores, While Von has another monster game. Resulting in the run game being just a fraction of the reason they get a win.

You left out the option,

Continually run into his own lineman until he takes one of them out for the game.

A quote from Moreno this week:

“(Sitting out the past eight weeks has been) tough,” said Moreno. ”You just want to go out there and help your team win. I took the approach where I was helping my team win in practice, doing any type of special-teams or scout team work that I needed to do to help the team win. That’s the approach I was taking.”

“You just never know when your chance is going to be. When your chances do come, you’ve got to make the most of those and go about it the right way. I think that’s where I was.”

Gotta love the positive attitude. I was pretty down on Moreno in the first few weeks of the year, but I'm definitely rooting for him to have a break-out game this week.

I'm really hoping he goes "all crazy legs" and does really well. It would be great if he becomes the 'back everyone was expecting. Someone posted a highlight clip in another thread that was pretty cool. It showed how he is capable of good vision and can stop/start on a dime to make tacklers miss and get some extra yards (even a TD on one of those plays). That may have shown ALL of his good runs, but if he can be more consistent, it will be fun to watch. It's too bad that I mainly remember him dancing around in the backfield and getting tackled for a loss.

And honestly, I believe him to be genuine. From the sidelines, Moreno (in street clothes) is always one of the first guys to chest bump or high-five a teammate after a big run. Honestly, I was rooting for them to cut the guy during preseason, but now I really hope that he shows us something. He's going to get his chances. Ball sucks and you're not going to give a 21-year-old 185 pound back like Hillman 20 carries.

You see it as positive attitude , I see it as not wanting to get cut and loses the rest of his contract money.

Do not remember his contract but thought it was in the 4+mil a year area. Divide that by 16 and it is a good chunk of change to piss away by not doing what the boss man says.

I hope he turns out to be the second coming of TD. But I'm not holding my breath.

Unless I missed something about Ball being injured, I still see Ball getting the majority of the snaps.

He has been with Manning a few years and understands the O better. Vs Moreno who has been playing scout squad.

Run faster to the sidelines after a score, so he can celebrate, than he ever does actually on the field, especially between the tackles.

I expect the usual tap-dancing, jazz hands. Then he'll break a big run, it'll look like a score, and someone will punch the ball out from behind and he'll roll an ankle. Then at after the break we'll see him getting a massage and he'll fall off the massage table.

Tip: It's far less frustrating to watch Moreno play football if you imagine the Benny Hill theme in your head whenever he gets the ball does anything.

As I see it his problem has always been he tries to make too much happen. If he could learn to let the game come to him I think he could be great. I just hope he doesn't fall into his habit of trying to hard given he knows he is running out of chances. Too bad Bobby Turner left he could have really helped Morano a lot especially in the mental part of the position.

Stud has had his hand in developing some fine backs himself. Tiki Barber, McGahee, Lynch and Fred Jackson all rushed for 1000 yards under Studs before he coached at Denver.

That's true but Turner seems to get their head right at least that is what I have read somewhere. Maybe fwf told me.
