That is a lot of money to put on the table IMO for a very unproven guy. Its like the pre-rookie wage scale for the NFL, dishing out a lot of guaranteed money hoping a guy will pan out.
And you mentioned the Dodgers hitting on Puig and Ryu, what about busting on Ishii, or the bust of Irabu, and countless other players that never could pan out.
