If you are interested in avant-garde classical music, Philip Glass is interesting. He's not for everyone though.
One of the jazz classics I picked up is Thelonius Monk with John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall. It was just discovered in 2005 hidden in the library of congress and represents some of the best jazz you'll ever hear. It was a 1957 live recording. Incredible stuff.
Thanks for the tip on Rodrigo.
I got a tip on Dhjanjo Rheinhard. I can't believe this guy was making this kind of guitar music back in the 30's. (John McLaughlin mentioned him as a source of inspiration.)
I love the Blues. Elmore James, Blind Willie Johnson, Robert Johnson, Howlin Wolf, Taj Mahal, Little Walter, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Bo Diddly, Johnny Lee Hooker, and Mississippi John Hurt. (Some of Harmonica but mostly guitar)
I got a tip from the Orange Mane about Buddy Guy and I have not been disappointed. I have to start remembering names better to say thanks proper.
