Exactly bendog - His family was not in the serf realm of the community - not to mention little is laid out in the bible of whom or his family desended from. If his family was from solomon and david, he could claim to be king (messiah means king as well) of the jews - And in order to be a rabbi - one of the requirements back then was you had to be married......
