I've never been sold on the notion that Jesus knew beforehand everything that would befall him and his movement. In fact, the traditional Christian theology is that God sent Jesus into the world as a reconcillation with humankind, and through Jesus gave humankind a philosphy (love) and social structure that would eliminate hate and sin, and all the social maladies that result. However, humankind rejected Jesus's philosophy for hate and sin. At some pt of his ministry, Jesus had to know he was on a oneway suicidal course to be nailed on a tree. Politically, he had to know that his entry into Jerusalem would result in his death/assasination.
Those are good points. Jesus did know what would befall him on his entry into Jerusalem. Whether it was "mystically" or practically is of little importance. We do know that he had reasoned that he would be resurrected from death. That seems to be of more importance.

Also, saying Jesus was a "magician" is reducing what we know into myth. A magician cannot raise people from the dead, rebuild diminished extremeties, or resurrect himself.
