My first tailgate ever: Thank You
On Sunday I got off the bus from Manhattan and was just hoping to stumble on some Broncos fans after I'd read of a tailgate on denverbroncos.com.....instead I stumble upon the Bus and what really was Bronco fan heaven! You guys are so well organized it's disgusting. For those I managed to talk to, I was the tall skinny guy with longish hair that was wearing a blue broncos t shirt. I've been posting on denverbroncos.com for about two years, but never thought to post over here at the mane...
Let me explain my background a little bit....my dad's from Aurora CO but I was born and raised in Hong Kong (formerly British, now part of China)....the Broncos have been a big part of my life ever since we got our ass kicked in "that" superbowl...I was about 5 at the time... in high school I would stay up till 3 am just so I could listen to the game on the radio. I have struggled to even be able to watch Broncos games, nevermind go to them. The last game I had been to was a preseason game in 96.
I moved to the states in February from England and it just so happened that this game coincided with my 21st birthday. I got my tickets the day they became available.
I managed to meet one of the founders of "The Quarterbacks Club", a man who hasn't missed a Broncos home game in team history. He reminded me of my late Grandpa Bill, also a season ticket holder. The people from Colorado are so kind and Broncos fans are no exception. We put our energy into our love for the team and the fan spirit and that's the only way it should be.
On a 21st birthday weekend where I managed to get lost in a chinese pastry factory at 5 am, swallow 15 shots in an hour and meet a lovely lady, this was by far the highlight. You guys made my weekend. It's a great thing you do, a great thing.
