I don't think anyone consciously wants to destroy a life they've built with someone else. And usually don't give serious thought to that as a consequence of their actions.
But I am a firm believer that given the right set of circumstances and opportunity, humans become human. Some may steer towards a deliberate course of action, but often I think people find things where and when they least expect to.
With all due respect to individual morals or ethics, we are masters at self delusion and justifications. Regardless of our personal standards and our love and respect for another individual in our life I have to remain in the somewhat cynical never say never ideology.
