I still don't quite get the point of this thread.
OK, so there are a number of Republicans who have committed sexual acts with minors - reprehensible acts, of course, and these Republicans are hypocrites as well since they're always mouthing platitudes about decency, family values, and so on.
Does that mean that someone who isn't a Republican but also commits a similar crime is just that wee bit less reprehensible, since they aren't as hypocritical? I think the act of pedophilia is so wrong that the political affiliation of the perpetrator is irrelevant as to the evil of the act.
I don't see the existence of Republican pedophilia as being damning of Republicans or their ideology in and of itself. There are many many ways to criticize the GOP and conservative ideology which don't need the sleaze factor.
