But, regardless of what Trevor makes, we were not going to give Hayward the kind of money he found in Jax.
i don't know about that. we saw this coming. even though we didn't know trevor was going to be out, we knew we had to choose between bertrand and reggie last year. the team thought that reggie was the better player ,and that's why bertrand was let go. it only makes sense that the team probably was counting on resigning reggie at the time. what we all didn't know was that reggie was going to play so well, and the market will be so thin at his position. that's why we lost him.

i thought bertrand benefitted greatly from trevor's presence. but look how he did in arizona. reggie did most of his work without trevor. my guess is reggie will become a big time dude at jax. their defense is already solid.

since we don't have any good young d-lineman i think we really are a mess there. what really screwed us is, essentially none of the d-linemen we drafted in last few years made the team.

thanks to the compensation picks, we have four first day picks. if scouts do their homework, i don't mind trading down from first two to get more picks on the first draft day.

i really do think that shanahan and co. should concentrate on building depth at the position this year. i hope he doesn't mess around using picks on corners, rb's, and wr's (although there are some good ones out there this year).
