what i think trevor had was a discectomy. they removed a herniating disc from his lumbar spine, which is very common. depending on which neurosurgeons you talk to you will get different numbers, but in general, it's one of those surgeries that follows the rule of thirds-- 1/3 get better, 1/3 stays the same as far as symptoms are concerned, and 1/3 actually get worse immediately after surgery. but it usually does not lead to degerative changes so given enough time and rehab, you can expect full recovery.
now c. brown's story is different. he does have foot and knee problems that can be degenerative. because more wear and tear can speed up the degeneration, his career is that of certain decline. that's why i don't want to see him on this team. although he would tease you with his sporadic brilliance, unfortunately, he will not contribute much.
