This is Marques Douglas, not someone like Jevon Kearse.
They know exactly how much money that can offer Douglas, and not a penny more. It doesn't take a crowd of high priced lawyers, the owner, coach etc to make an offer they can't negotiate due to salary crap constraints.
And, btw, for all the ass-kissing and grovelling Synder and Gibbs have done, Courtney Brown still hasn't committed to them and has moved onto Seattle.
The only glaring failure this management is guilty of is being grossly unprepared for Pryce balking at renegotiating his contract.
Those guys knew by the first month of the 2004 season that Pryce may not be the same player again. They knew Hayward was playing well and that Trevor's cap charge of around $10million was crippling to their plans in Free Agency.
Well instead of getting down to the task in September, Oct, Nov, Dec etc they left it a bare few days before free agency and when Pryce refused they were royally screwed instead of having a contingency plan.
