Storm Door Project day he** I dont remember somewhere around 13 rofl
Begain project "whatamess" around 1:30. At 2:00 actually begain moving pieces around in utter confussion. By 3:00 battery on drill runs out. Run into town and steal dads drill. Get home around 3:20 to find the next step requires a 7/16 drill bit. Dig thru 3 tool boxs and find every bit except 7/16. (wtf kind of bit is 7/16 not 3/8 or 1/2 that would be too common for the fine folks at Larson Storm Doors) Run back to town and purchase a frickin $7.99 drill bit that I will use once in my life to drill 2 fricking holes. At around 4:15 door is now in place and ready to install handle. Holy crap there are alot of little bitty tinny weanie parts involved with that. Get handle into position and it seems to be working just fine. Wait the deadbold part was working before now it does not. Screw that who needs to deadbolt a stormdoor will fix that in the offseason. Wife arrives and simply says "oh that looks nice". Ok kind of was looking for more of a holy crap thats the finest stormdoor installation Ive ever been blessed enough to see" Oh well take what you can get. Then realize that since a couple of days ago the dogs had ripped open the nice little baggie I had used to store the nice white painted screws in and lost them all. I simple gone to the hardware store and bought some nice bright silver ones. Note to self might want to paint all those screws to match the door in the offseason. Thats it now its beer thirty will attach "closers" on weekend.
Stay tuned for further misadventures of Hotrod the handyman.
