I don't know what to say. I've waited my whole life for this day. They won this for all the people that have suffered for so many years. They won it for all the people that followed the team tirelessly for their whole lives and never got to witness what we have seen tonight. They won it for my kids who won't have to endure what the older Sox fans have.
We got to beat all our demons along the way: The Yankees, the Babe, A-rod, Jeter, Rivera, 1918, Torre, Scoscia, Tony LaRussa, the Cards themselves, and on and on.
We set several records and hung the biggest defeat on our hated rivals.
Tonight New York is a very sad place that is in desperate need of some new chanting material.
This morning I went to visit Dad at the cemetery just like I did last week before game 7. I told him what was up and that I'd be back to celebrate with him if they pulled it off. I will do that tomorrow. And then I will do the same with my grandfather.
