I get it. It can be a turn off to be eating at a dirty place. I'm just saying that "some" good food can be found in some "dirty" places. Best places in general, regardless of flavor, are the "hole in the wall" places.
If you walk into a bbq joint in the south, and it's impeccably clean, consider walking out. It's likely to suck. Although there is a big difference from having that classic "hole in the wall" type feel, and being completely disgusting.
