BS! Speakers are the most important part of a stereo system. Bad speakers make a top end system sound like sh*t. while quality speakers will make a substandard system sound better. Amps are nice, but not really necessary any more (unless you're going for "wake up the neighbors" loud). Most decent head units output 15-30 watts RMS with 50-75 watts of peak performance. More than enough for the casual listener.
What's so great about Eclipse? From the information I could find theere's nothing special about their specs. I'm not trying to dis your choice, just curious why you chose it.

Eclipse is pretty good and I think they make units with Blue Illumnation so dude might like that, but the only good thing is the Replacement guarintee other then that they are about as good as Pioneer I would even take Pioneer over Eclipse.
