Why would there be a drive for repeal when NAFTA benefits the wealthiest corporations (read: the people who control the levers of government power) and hurts everyone else?
They would love nothing more than to see the U.S. become just like Mexico, i.e., a country where ~30 families control all the wealth and everyone else is a serf.
We might not be there yet, but no one can dispute the fact that we've been heading in that direction at a steady clip since Reagan.
