Nice effort from the Flower....especially in the third with some big saves including one on a penalty shot. His confidence really needed that, especially with no one behind him now (Vokoun out 3-6 mos). Sid with a nice goal. Geno was quiet outside of creating a couple chances, one of which was flubbed by Jokinen.

We looked great in the first, NJ took it to us in the second (for some reason we have always had bad second periods) and meh in the third until that third goal which swinged the mo back. Scuds looked good tonight. Olli Maata had some deer in the headlights moments which is to be expected since this was his first game and his debut was one year ahead of schedule. He needs to get more comfortable if he is to stay beyond the first 9 games.

I hope Nealer is ok.
