I'm a Johnny-Come-Lately when it comes to this PC title but DAMN what a great game! I just picked up Far Cry the other day from GameStop. I was borrowing my buddy's copy of Doom 3 but I got tired of all the darkness. Just want to see where I'm going!

My big anticipation is EQ2 sometime around Thanksgiving (I hope) but I'm not sure my rig can handle it. My buddy had the same fears too and that's why he upgraded to an AMD64 and the latest ATI video card. Being single with no obligations, he can afford to do that sort of thing! Me...well... Anyway, he had purchased Doom 3 since it was the latest in graphics and he wanted to test his machine for EQ2 as well (we're EQ junkies). He loved it and wanted me to try it to see if my rig could run it. It does, but not at the highest graphics level.

Anyway, I was reading that Far Cry also pushed the graphics engine and so I thought I'd give it a try to see how my rig might deal with EQ2-type graphics. Well, I'm happy to report it runs just fine (which makes me REAL anxious for EQ2). But while I wait for EQ2 I just wanted to sing the praises of Far Cry. What a game! It's incredible! The graphics are stunning, the AI is great...what can I say? Most fun I've had in a while with a game.

Anyone else play/played it?
