The best bet would restructure him down to $1M for one year (like they did with DJ Williams in 2012) without touching the rest of the contract, and see how it plays out...that's IF he's healthy at the end of training camp. If he can't snap out of it, then the overall cap hit would be the same if they cut him now, or later (in 2014). That's a good deal for all parties involved.

Only problem with that is, you risk losing Phillip Blake on the practice squad, which they may, or may not, want to do.
