It appears Wisconsin has hired (or is extremely close to hiring) Utah State's Gary Andersen to replace Bret Bielema, after Oregon State's Mike Riley and Miami's Al Golden both reportedly declined the job.
That will be a big step up for Andersen and he'll get a nice raise. But he might be walking into a difficult situation as well. The expectations in Madison will continue to be extremely high, he has an overbearing and attention whoring AD and perhaps most importantly, Wisconsin apparently doesn't pay its assistant coaches particularly well. It's apparently why some top assistants left after last season and several have left with Bielema for Arkansas as well this year. That will be an issue as Andersen tries to assemble his staff.
There are also some rumors that there is some sort of brewing scandal at Wisconsin (perhaps explaining why several other coaches didnt want the gig).
Fatasses in ties and pleated pants rarely make good coaches
