They have the highest total, but only because they have the largest profit (profit which is in large part received through exploitation of employees, local municipalities, tax loopholes, etc.)
They gave $320 million in 2010, which is about 2% of profits (on $16bn net income).
Compare that to Kroger, one of their largest competitors who donated 11% of their profits.
Or Macy's, another competitor, 8%
Or Safeway, another competitor, 7.5%
Hell, even the ****ing scummiest corps like Morgan Stanley (5.7%) gave more.
