Conservatives are, by definition, people who fear and resist change, and "the times they are a changing" - in a big way!

Since the 1960s, republican candidates have been forced to lie about who they are and what they really stand for in order to trick people into voting for them.

At the end of the day, when you strip away the Reagan fake populist veneer, the GOP is a party that serves only the interests of the plutocrats and the wealthy few....but the man behind the curtain is becoming more and more visible now (thanks, Dubya!)

I am a FIRM believer in certain things that are going on in the GOP. I don't think, the last 2 GOP candidates (Romney & McCain) were really so far right as many think. There are certain things in place that are handicapping these candidates. Big corporate money, evangelicals, the Tea Party and of course Grover's pledge. In order to get the nomination, you have to go so far right to the point of extremism. I don't think either Romney nor McCain wanted to go that far. For the GOP to move forward, they need to take a hard look at some of those factors and not to force some of these stupid things upon their candidates. I mean for godsake, they have to take a pledge to some dude just to be a candidate? Who the F is that dude to have that much power. I do think there are some extreme wack jobs that were GOP candidate hopefuls but not all candidates (Romney & Paul) are like that. I think those 2 guys were actually smart men who, even though they had to go through that ****ing wacked out process of the GOP, would have been much more central in their presidency then most people would have liked to believe.
