And we have pointed out that in all this legislative efforts he met them halfway (or more than halfway in some cases, like ACA). That is in no way "choosing a fight." The only way he could meet your/Republicans' definition of a "great compromiser" is if he did nothing at all. The legislation he passed was stuff he campaigned on. GOP compromise = ignoring the agenda he ran on + let them write everything.
Please explain 1) what examples you have of him picking a "fight" and 2) what way he could have avoided upsetting Republicans while still passing any kind of legislation/doing things he campaigned to do.
