Bipartisanship to the GOP means democrats supplicating to all the GOP demands and never asking for anything else in return.
Obamacare was based on a Heritage Foundation plan, mirrored a plan originally pushed by Nixon, and had already been effectively implemented by a GOP governor, who just so happens to be the guy that Obama is now running against.
But yeah, that's straight dem legislation with no compromise in it.
Obama kicked ass for his two years with a dem majority in both houses, despite some obstructionist GOP antics. Once the GOP took over Congress they slapped locks on the wheels of the legislative process in hopes of misrepresenting Obama and getting him voted out today.
Current polling suggests that it didn't work and McConnell and co.'s agenda has failed. I doubt the GOP will learn anything from it though. This is after all the party that believes any exceptions for abortion (like rape, incest, or life of the mother) is unacceptable, that any admission that anthropogenic climate change might be real disqualifies you out of hand, etc..
Can't compromise when one side refuses to budge an inch.
