Predicting the past is done all the time with climate models. They can reasonably accurately simulate the climate of the last 150 years, and have been used to examine the past 1000 years, as well as past climate states like the mid-Holocene and the last glacial maximum. They've also been used to study the climate of Mars (suitably modified, of course).
If they were tampered with to get the current climate right, they couldn't be used for all those other purposes. That they are shows that you're wrong.
