As far as Obama surrounded by Communists? Really? Maybe you can argue that with his dad, who he didn't see after he was 5 years old. His mom Just because she was an anthropologist working in Indonesia doesn't make her a Red.

Socialist parties are similar to Communist/Marxist ones in that they are all in favor of doing away with capitalism, so ultimately, the differences are more minor and usually are in relation to the methods preferred in obtaining the Socialist state. Socialism by definition means public ownership of the means of production which is the type of property confiscation that we saw in Cuba and the USSR. That's what it is.
Since I didn't say anything about Obama's being a Red based on her working in Indonesia, your statement makes no sense. She had Marxist associations at least from college onward, including Frank Marshall Davis. Suffice it to say, if someone had hung out with Nazis from college onward, they'd be considered at the least a Nazi sympathizer, as it goes along with the territory. Democrats, of course, wish to pretend this isn't the case and get very defensive. Again, there is also the matter of the Campus Democrats so-sponsoring a DSA event which Obama attended. This doesn't take a genius to put together. I don't think the Nazi analogy need be mentioned again.
