Miami Game

Miami at # 9 Notre Dame in Chicago, IL

A matchup of a high scoring but streaky offense against a great defense, with a bad offense playing against an even worse defense. Miami is faster than anyone ND has seen this year. But like most games, this game will be decided in the trenches. Notre Dame's offensive line outweighs Miami's DL by almsot 30 pounds per man and Miami's defensive line rotation is made up of largely underclassmen, with only one good player in the bunch (Chickillo). The Canes have been awful vs. the run and have not put much pressure on the passer. I think Notre Dame RB Cierre Wood will have a big day, although Miami returns its best LB in sophomore Denzel Perryman from injury. Miami's offensive line is a good one, but I think ND's front seven is even better and we'll struggle to run the ball consistently against them. Stephen Morris is the ultimate Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde QB. Last week he threw for 566 yards.......and thats while playing boneheaded football for almost the entire 2nd and 3rd quarters. He can't afford to keep that up, or else he'll be picked off...repeatedly, by this defense. Miami freshman RB Duke Johnson and sophomore sensation WR Philip Dorsett will have some big plays, but I think ND will generally control the play. There's too much experience and depth there, even though their offense has struggled all year long. They won't struggle against a defense like this.

#9 Notre Dame 33, Miami 17
