Following are the main campaign promises Sen. John Kerry made in his speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination Thursday night:
— Cut the deficit in half over four years by ending corporate tax cuts.
and he expects corporations to stay in america by doing this?

— Offer targeted tax breaks for the middle class; roll back tax cuts to people earning over $200,000 a year.
Like I said in an earlier thread...I don't make close to that much, but someone in California or NY that is middle class, not rich.

— Close tax loopholes to companies moving jobs abroad and give breaks to firms keeping good-paying jobs at home.
ok...how do you do that with #1 too?

— Pledge not to privatize Social Security or to cut benefits.
how will you do this w/o raising taxes across the board? SS is in serious trouble and won't be around much longer unless we privatise it.

— Invest in new technology and alternative fuels to lessen U.S. dependence on foreign oil.
Republicans have been saying this same thing.....same song different verse

— Pledge never lead the United States into a preemptive war.
but yet GW was criticized for not doing enough before 09/11...terroists don't understand sanctions.

— Immediately implement the recommendations of the Sept. 11 commission and reform intelligence gathering.

where is the $$ coming for that?

— Rebuild alliances with other nations.
why should we care if France or Germany likes us? They already went behind our backs for many years with Sadaam.

— Ensure the United States would lead the global effort against nuclear proliferation.
we have already done this

— Add 40,000 active-duty troops; double the number of U.S. Special Forces.
and we are paying for this how again? with only additional taxes on 2% and less taxes for middle class?

— End the military’s heavy reliance on National Guard and military reservists.
how? I can say I'll crap out gold bars, but that doesn't mean I can do it.

— Offer incentives that would save families $1,000 a year on health
insurance costs; allow Americans to buy prescription drugs from countries like Canada
How? With all the regulations and red tape our country has in regards to medical costs...how

So your willing to spend our hard earned american dollars in canada? Why not keep that in the US to save jobs? Flip flopping.
