Nah, they flat out did not look good, mathews or no mathews. Gates was dropping passes. 4 times they kicked FG's while in the redzone. And really, we have no idea what the defense is like. McFadden had a decent game but with all the penalties and blunders they had, it's hard to tell if they chugs will have a decent defense or not.
I don't see them winning the AFC West over the Broncos. Not right now, based on week 1.
