MONEYBALL #38
Default OT - Ring Cycle on PBS

One of the greatest feats of musical composition is on PBS this week. Wagner's Ring, tonight is Das Rheingold which is on now in Chicago via WTTW, tomorrow is Die Walkurie, Thursday is Siegfried, and Friday is my personal favorite of all time, Gotterdammerung.

Get out of the cave and check it out, you might actually like some of it. It is an incredible new staging by a director who has done Circ de Soleil with a moving stage where the chick playing Brunhilde actually took a dive on opening night. If anything watch just to see if anyone falls or gets stuck. They have lots of 3D visual effects and flying mermaids and fire and snakes and swords and rainbow bridges and stuff that the comic's stole from liberally.

Watch and see where the phrase "It is not over until the fat lady sings" got started.

Mods, I know it is football season...sorry but this is special, to me at least...
