The only numbers Cabrera has better than Trout really is homeruns and RBI's, and Trout trumps Cabrera in defense and steals. while posting better stat lines at what are generally looked as the highest - AVG, OBP, Slugging and OPS.
Not to mention the turnaround of that Angels team when he was called up.
