It's actually kind of surprising that no current WR has topped Jerry Rice's mark of 1,848 yards with the way the rules have been changed and the way the passing game has evolved.

One of these years, a freak like Calvin Johnson will break the 2,000 yard barrier.
We'll see. Maybe it's a story of possession passing games bringing these numbers down. It would be an interesting conversation anyway. Nowadays with teams spreading out 4 wides with pass catching RB's plus the prevalence of pass catching TE's, maybe there are just too many receivers on the field for any one of them to grab those kind of numbers?
