Sorry for bumping again, but I thought I'd piggyback this thread rather than start a new one.
I'm upgrading... I'm pretty much set on the Callaway FT Tour Draw, 11 degree driver, and I have two Callaway wedges 56 and 60 and a Taylormade Burner rescue 3wood - and a cheap RAM 5 wood and 4 hybrid.
I was looking at the 2007 Callaway X-Forged irons just to keep the same brand, but I'm looking at some other options for irons... I wanted some help.
I'm a left handed shot, and my iron game is really good (I slice a lot of drives hence the Draw 3w and 5w), so I'm mostly looking for distance. As for fitting, I'm between a standard and -1/4, so standard clubs should work.
Here's what I'm looking at:
2007 Callaway X-forged 4-PW
2009 Taylormade Burner irons 4-PW, SW
Cobra S2 irons 4-PW, GW (leaning towards these ones, mostly because of the gap wedge and they're a little cheaper)
The Cobras are almost exactly what I want, but I've heard that you can't beat Taylormade's distance. However, my Taylormade rescue 3w actually gets less distance from the fairway than my current 5 iron, but that has more to do with the fact that I'm not particularly good with my woods/hybrids (why I usually only carry one).
Anyone have experience with either the Cobra S2 Irons, Callaway X-Forged irons or the Taylormade burner irons? I've narrowed it down to these three choices based on research, advice from instructors, and my wallet.
