The Miami Dolphins announced Friday that they are terminating the contract of linebacker Joey Porter.
Porter asked to be cut or traded in the past two weeks because he wasn't happy with his playing time last season. Porter was scheduled to make $4.8 million this season.
Porter, who originally signed with the Dolphins as a free agent on March 7, 2007, had 41 tackles, nine sacks and one forced fumble in 14 games last season.
