Today I got one of the greatest presents I have ever bought for someone back. It was a small Coleman fishing pole that folds up to look like a pen with a little reel that you can attach to it. I bought it for my grandpa 3 years ago and gave it to him. He thought it was the coolest thing ever and spent the next 6 months showing everyone. When he died last month my Dad, Aunt, and Uncle included it among the things that was in the coffin with him. It made me smile through the tears to remember how much joy it brought him.
Today when I was exchanging gifts with my dad he gave it back to me. I brought it home and put it on top of my roll-top desk to remind me what an act of kindness can do.
