Hmm, I like Queen too. We Are the Champions, but not sure I would list as my all time, but I like em. And I like the Rolling Stones, but dont know if they are my favorites.
And as for the critiques on U2, I would agree with the assessments of Bono being a bit preachy and pompous but that hardly negates his or the band's actual musical abilities, and not a big fan of some of their Zooropa, pop phase, but I grew up on War and Joshua Tree and will always enjoy those albums. And they have amassed enough single songs that I really like, some a bit preachy but love it, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where the Streets Have No Name, With or Without and You and Pride are all songs I love.
And I enjoy the Clash very much too, but not sure I get the corelation with U2. It's a bit simplistic to say U2 is some religiously infused version of them.
At any rate, also concur with someone's addition of Fleetwood Mac, I am really enjoying their music on my IPOD. Also listening to heavy doese of Barenaked Ladies, Santana, Led Zepplin, Tom Petty and my favorite of the moment Sheryl Crow. (and yes Sureshot before I get another negative rep, I know I write too much)
