What are your thoughts on Guster, by the way? Have you listened to their "Lost and Gone Forever" album? I'm not really aware of anyone else ever having heard of them before. They play their worst songs on the radio, which is unfortunate because that's the band people come to know.
And just for giggles have you ever listened to They Might Be Giants?

Boy was bearable, standard issue new wave circa 1980. With "Gloria" and each subsequent release since then, they became more and more "self" (as in self-rightous, self-indulgent and full of self-importance). They were attempting to be like a spiritual Clash, but without the in depth political sensibilities that that band had in spades.....it sold well, but it didn't really work. It was more strident and bombastic than spiritual.
I've never heard the Guster album in question. I've actually have had very little exposure to them, so I really have to pass without comment.
I didn't mind They Might Be Giants.
